Camping Elsewhere – Diamond M Ranch Resort

Months ago I said I would blog about some truly special RV parks from my personal travels, for my guests who roam around the country (the average guest with us drives over 3,000 miles on their journey). Of course many parks stand out as very nice, but nothing stands out more clearly than Diamond M Ranch Resort. It’s in Kenai, Alaska, near Soldotna.

First, the people – As we all know, people can truly make all the difference on how we enjoy our camping experience. You’re in great hands with the folks who own and operate Diamond M Ranch Resort. The Martins are so nice, welcoming, fun, knowledgable, adventurous, loving, inviting, charming, authentic, and genuine. Many of those words are synonyms yet each word conjures up a slightly different image, and the Martin family fits all of them and more. This is a family that prays together and their personalities flow naturally into their hospitality.

Second, the facilities – The Martins came up with an incredible theme setting for their RV park and they’ve been at it … building it and adding to it … for years now. Ask the Martins about the history of their main building. It’s truly fascinating! Aside from a long list of amenities at the RV Park, they also have wonderful, warm and comfortable cabins for rent. There’s so much to do while you’re at the park, even without leaving the park itself.

Third, the area – does this even need to be discussed? There is so much to see and do in Alaska that one could live there for years and never run out of unique adventures!

I could post pictures but you can find many online. So you may as well stop reading about my feelings and just check out their website & then add a stay with them to your Alaska adventure plans. It’s simply a great place to stay awhile!

Aside from their webpage, be sure to “meet more of their personality” by joining them on their Facebook page, and following them on Twitter.  This winter I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the pictures of the moose, including one just posted this evening.

When you’re there, would you be so kind as to tell them the owner of High Plains Camping hopes for a return trip some day. It’s on my Bucket List!
