Sunday, October 10, at 3 p.m.
Oakley City Library, 700 West Third St. (5 minutes from High Plains Camping)

Mr. Steve Friesen, Director of the Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave in Golden, Colorado, will be in Oakley to talk about his new book. He will be taking questions and signing copies of his book following the presentation.

“Buffalo Bill: Scout, Showman, Visionary” looks at the life of William F. Cody through the lens of artifacts collected at the museum in Golden.

“Buffalo Bill” Cody was a worldwide celebrity, but he spent his early years in Kansas.  At age 8 his family moved to Leavenworth, and during his early twenties he hunted buffalo to feed railroad crews working from Hays to the Oakley area receiving the name “Buffalo Bill”.

Copies of his book will be available for purchase at the event.
