Wheat Harvest Is Progressing

Northwest Kansas is in the midst of its wheat harvest, which I’ve blogged about in the past. I want to post these pictures to show you how varied the RVs are that house the harvesters while they stay at High Plains Camping.

Occassionally one of our regular crews won’t show up and we’ll take in a new crew. This year we were able to allow only 1 new crew from our waiting list.

We still accept overnighters, and the harvesters are very courteous to them and to our facilities. However, walk-ins definitely take a chance of  having to accept a lesser space (perhaps they’ll have to disconnect their tow car, or maybe take 30-amp instead of 50) or simply being turned away from lack of availability. It’s always a good idea to book ahead when traveling to this area toward the end of June or early July.
