September Guests

Empty-nesters have taken over the RV park! Yes, summer has officially drawn to a close. How does this change things at the RV park?

The hot tubs gain a lot more attention. I notice people seem to walk a bit slowly (nearly limping) toward them but then walk tall and refreshed afterward. Usually they comment about the tub being a miracle worker for their achy muscles.

The playground becomes a place for adults to linger. It brings a lot of warmth to my heart to see a couple sitting in the swings and talking. All empty-nesters should fall in love all over again. Maybe I’ll make hand holding a requirement at this park!

The miniature golf becomes a place for the weary to move about, laugh, and challenge one another. Some are known to head toward the 18 holes saying “Loser buys the pint of Ben & Jerry’s!”

The primary difference between this September and any of the past 7 others is the occupancy. We are seeing far more overnighters this year. Far more.

Many are repeaters. Some admit they found us online and saw so much about us that they had to give us a try. And still others just happened upon our highway signs or found us in a directory about the time their weariness was settling in.

So that’s how the first half of our September has been. I hope you’ll come by and see us. I’m looking forward to it!
