Fires Are Too Risky

You’re in a windy & dry climate where grass fires start all too easily. Although smoking is permitted outdoors, we ask that you properly extinguish your smoking materials and place the remnants in your own trash or in one of the outdoor bins (please not in the restroom trash cans!)

Smoking isn’t permitted in any of our buildings or near the doorways. There is so much space on this 15 acres, we’re sure you can find a comfortable place for your smoking pleasure.

Thanks to our typically windy and dry climate, campfires and charcoal grilling aren’t permitted. Fireworks, firearms, and explosives may not be discharged on the property. It doesn’t take but a spark to start a grass fire that quickly ingnites into a full prairie fire.

Propane grills are allowed but charcoal ones are not permitted.

If you have an LP grill, you may use it. If you have a tabletop propane grill, we ask that you not use it on our wood picnic tables unless you put a shield between the grlill and the table top.

Please understand that with frequent strong winds, very little precipitation, and intense heat and cold for our weather, our picnic tables are rustic. They can be easily damaged by the high heat of grills.
