Consider Day Trips from High Plains Camping

Stay a few nights and see the area around High Plains Camping. A friend of mine writes such a great blog about Kansas places, and she’s offered that I point you to her blog since I can’t find the time to write about Kansas until my camping season wanes a bit. So please check out these links to some of Marci’s postings:

Fort Wallace (Civil War buffs)

Russell Springs

Hill City

Garden City

Marci Penner is the Executive Director of the Kansas Sampler Foundation. She’s also a friend of mine and of High Plains Camping. The friendship began when I was new at owning the park and was new to Kansas. I reached out to her to explain that my guests would need to know about Kansas attractions, Kansas history, and Kansas culture … and I knew nothing! Through her organization, which strives to preserve and sustain Kansas’s rural culture, I have become avidly proud of this state and its offerings. When you take the time to slow down and listen, it’s amazing what you hear.

I recommend you skim through many of Marci’s blogs as you plan any travels across Kansas. She finds marvels throughout the state.

Don’t miss out on the links we posted earlier to the left of the blog text:

Aside from the hot tubs, mini-golf, organic garden, and Sunflower Barn here at High Plains Camping, and the neighboring antique store (A Moment In Time) and the convenience of the family restaurant next door, there’s plenty to see and do!
