Shower Changes

February is SHOWER RENOVATION MONTH in the mens room at High Plains Camping.

BACKGROUND:  My To Do list was greatly adjusted once I implemented  the guest satisfaction surveys 3 years ago. You told me what you loved, liked, didn’t like, and hated. In 2008, we received an “A” rating with hundreds of surveys coming in. That means we not only listened to you, but your input was valid!

The only survey comments about our showers were in regard to their incredible cleanliness. Praises are so wonderful, but I believe the shower areas are too small, even though no one complained. (And yes, they were used … a lot! Many used them and commented that they don’t normally use public showers but our’s were too clean to pass up.)

When the park was designed, they created 4 snug shower areas, each with their own super-snug dressing area, and 2 sorta-roomier shower areas with their respective dressing areas. The 2 sorta-roomier ones are fine, having been renovated a few years ago.

MEAT OF THE QUESTION:  Of the 4 snug ones, should we turn these 4 into:

  •  2 very roomy ones?
  • Or into 3, with 1 being roomier and the others remaining snug?
  • Or into 4, simply replacing the old dividers with new ones right where they’ve always been?

Demand-wise, there are 2 weeks of the year where someone might have to wait a few minutes if we go down to 2 from the 4. Guests during the other 50 weeks wouldn’t really be impacted, except for the obvious … the guests will all have more elbow room.

Your thoughts are always appreciated.

I’d rather see 2 roomy ones. Most RV parks have such cramped showers. The extra room would be great for us large folks.

The more room the better. I’ve never heard a fellow RVer complain about the showers being to big or to clean – kinda like complaining that a person has to much money 🙂

Congrats on the award – Goes to show first impressions are lasting impressions.

    Regards,

    Keith

The winner is … TWO! We are in the midst of repairing the ceramic tile floor but will have the new dividers in place within 10 days.

As the owner, I might be a bit biased, but still I must say I really enjoy what I’m seeing. It’s LOOKING GOOD!!!
